Always use cold water when running disposal. Items and materials that cannot be put into a garbage disposal:
- Bones of any kind
- Grease or fat.
- Large amounts of food.
- Extremely fibrous materials such as corn husks, celery stalks, potato skins, onion skins or artichokes.
- Glass, plastic, metal or paper.
- Anything that is combustible.
- Fish tank pebbles.
